New York, Nov. 22. The hearing of the Caruso oase created an immense sensation. The arresting detective deposed that he saw Caruso follow and annoy two young girls and three women, including a negress, at the Zoological Gardens. Before pinching a woman named Mrs Graham, she turned swiftly and struck him, orying, 11 You brute." She told the detective to arrest Caruso for insulting her. The detec tive stated be had made every effort to find her since she disappeared, but had failed. Oaruso denied the charge. He admitted be exchanged glances with Mrs Graham, who smiled at first in a flirtatious way. The case was adjourned.
