Oil and gas is now freely emitted from No. 2 bore, which is down 1750 feet. The cleaning out of the old No. 3 bore is proceeding apaoe, and oil is showing freely. The staffs are at present working from 4 a.m to 6 p.m. Electric light is being installed, and work thereafter until the wells are bottomed will be continuous,

Everything is ready to start boring at No. 4 bore early next week. Two boring plants for other concerns arrived to-day. Bonithon estate is to be pro3peoted right away, and Ngaire swamp, Eltham, in about a fortnight. The Inglewood Company and Taranaki Freehold Company are also completing arrangements with boring firms, in addition to which several private ventures are about to oommenoe.
