At the Supreme Court Lin Food, who had been found guilty of doing bodily hatm by ficiDg a revolver, was ordered to come up for sentenoo when called on. William White, found guilty of fowl' stealing, was Bentenced to one month Lee Son was charged with having sold pakapoo tickets to two constables. Mr Hanlon, prisoner's oounsel, at first pleaded a previous acquittal, but on the Court books beiDg examined it was found the entry was " withdrawn,” not " dismissed.” The jury, after retirement, were unable to agree, and the Crown Prosecutor aßkad for a new trial at the February sittings, □o objection being raised by the defence, Auckland, last night, At the Supreme Court to-clay a middleaged man named George Phillips was found guilty of indecently assaulting a boy, and also of committing an unnatural offence on a boy 13 years of age. Prisoner was sentenced to seven and ten years’ imprisonment on the respective charges, the sentences to run concurrently.
