Yesterday afternoon Mr Jago, manager of tbe Day Dawn branch of tho Western Australian Bank, was found bound behind tho counter. Ho stated that about three o’clock two disguished armed men entered the bank and asked for change of a note. Oa turning round to give ohange be found himself oovered with a revolver. The men bound and gagged him, took the keys, rifled the safe, and deeamped. The manager was the only person on the premises. With great exertion he succeeded in getting rid oi the gag. His orieß attraoled help. The bank authorities refaso to disolose the amount missing, whioh is believed to be nineteen hundred-pounds. Yesterday was pay day at the mines, and a busy day at tho bank. Sirprise is expressed that the robbers were not interrupted. The polios ace investigating, and have made one arrest.
