Sir H. Campbell Bannerman and Mr Asquith informed a deputation of Liberal Laoor members of the House of Commons that Goyernment regarded tbo Old Age Peneiooß question as odg of most extreme argenoy. They favored universal plans, altogether disassociated with the poor law. They were opposed to contributory echemes which involved inquisitorial machinery.
