Prince Von Bulow, in a moderate speeoh in tbe Reichstag, replying to Herr Bassermann’s interpellations of the idea of a closer rapprochement or alliance with France, said with the existing feeling in Franoe it was impossible. Germany had no idea of pushing in between Franoe, Russia, or Britain.

Prinoe von Bulow oontinuiDg, said that the Franca-Russian alliance had not been a danger to peace. It had stood the test as a weight contributing to the regular working of tho world’s clock. Qe hoped to be able to say the same of the FrancoBritish entente. Ho emphasised that Britain and Germany were mutually suoh good oustomers that there was every reason to retain their mutual oußtom. There had been points of disoord wherefore both were about equally blameable. He claimed that Germany put no stone in Britain’s way in Egy-pt. ‘i'lie establishment of friendly and confidential AngloGerman relations demanded time and patience. He reiterated that the navy was merely commensurate the greatness of the commercial interests and the protection of interests oversea. He concluded by replying to the argument that Germany' was isolated, and said a nation of sixty millions with such an army as Germany possessed would never be isolated while it remains true to itself.
