ft m r When there is a sediment like brick-dust in the urine it is a certain indication that the kidneys are not doing .their work properly, and miniecnate steps slmu.a w. taken to restore their healthy action. If this precaution is neglected., tic p.u ic cs i gradually become larger, and the miserable suffering caused by GimnCi 01 t Stones are usually formed in the kidneys, and descend thence into the bladder. They are composed of uric acid, or of oxalate of lime; solid matter which should Os held in solution in the fluids of the body, and be passed off m a dissolved condition til the urine. Uric acid stone is by far the commonest kind. When a stone is formed in a kidney great pain in the loins is felt, and this becomes agonising when the stone leaves the kidney and passes through one of t.ic nauow channels leading to the bladder. The pain then experienced is known as Kidney Oolte. It ceases when the stone reaches the bladder. Once in the bladder, the stone may be passed off with the urine, or it may remain and become larger by the accumulation of deposits. Sometimes a stone uultoiui in the bladder by tlie simple gathering together of particles of gravel sof nil aces mav suffer from stone or gravel. liven litt.e children arc not Persons of all ages may suffer from stone or gr exempt. , , When a stone formed in tlie kidneys is too large to pass through the pas - iga leading into the bladder, the passage becomes closed, dropsy sets in, and the patient may die in a few hours. When stones remain long in the bladder they grow to a great size, sometimes as large as an orange, and they frequently have to be cut out. . The following symptoms Indicate stone or gravel in the kidneys or b.addei . Treatment.— The only rational method of treatment for tins disease is to correct the action of the kidneys, thereby removing tlie cause. In a healthy condition of the kidneys and urinary system the water holds tlie solids ia solution until it- escapes from the body. In disease the solids are deposited in the kidneys and lU'ltkS.
tfFSv II JS restores to the kidneys their natural action, relieves cengestion, heals the wounded and bleeding mucous membranes of the urinary system, dissolves the stones alleacly formed, and prevents further formation. BLADDER DISEASE. Inflammation or Catarrh of the Bladder (Cystitis) is usually due tc lour; retention (>[ urine: the effect of irritating drugs ; stricture ; enlargement of the prostate glanu ; irritation caused by stone or gravel, or by the careless use of a catheter ; exposure to cold; decomposition of urine caused by its retention, etc. _ There are two forms of this complaint—Acute and Chronic flip latter being peculiar to elderly people. It is commoner in winter than in summer ; in cold than m warm climates ; in males than in. females. It is always dependent upon some obstruction to the flow of urine, or upon a diseased condition of the urinary organs The Bladder not being entirely emptied, the water retained decomposes. The kidneys are generally seriously involved in the mischief, the catarrh being usually a secondary symptom of disease of the kidneys, and unless these are restoied to their natural condition a cure cannot be effected. Warner’s Safe Cure corrects the unnatural condition of the kidneys, prevents :ne formation of pus and mucus by healing the inilamed membranes, and causes the water to become normal. . . „ treatise containing many letters from people who have been cu oit oi atone, Gravel, and Bladder Disease will be sent post free by H.
