THE " OUTLOOK’S” TROUBLES,
PRESS ASSOCIATION Dunedin, last night. Tho Prosbyterian Assembly to-day dis« cuisod the report on the aged and infirm ministers’ fund, and deoidod to refer tho regulations to eaeh ProsbySery. The report of tbo publications committee with respect to Outlook provoked a loDg and animated discussion on tho question as to the publication of an article sigaed 11 J,8,” whioh some oonsidored subversive of the dootrines of the Church, and the refusal to publish a letter by the Rev. P. B, Frassr, protesting against, its publication unless the said letter was considerably amended. It was eventually resolved that while not endorsing all the views of the artioles in question, and reasserting the dootrines of graoe as set forth in the shorter oateohism, no further action should be taken, A protest was entered by several ministers, and a committee was set up to reply to the protest.
The report of the eommittoa on tho growth of the Church stated that there wero tha following increases : —Schools 61, scholars on roll 2209, average attendanoe 1320, teachers 335, teachers (offies bearers) 115, teachers (membare) 315, Bible classes 18, membsrs 751, leaders not miniators 30. In contributions there had beou a total inovoese of £1242. A number of recommendations submitted were odoptod. In the evening a Bible class demonstration was held in Knox Church, when addresses were given by the Moderator, Dr. Gibb, Rev. J. O. Jamieson, and others.
