Mr Douglas McLean secured first and reserve ohampion for a three-year-old heifor, firsts for two-year-old heifer and oow with two of her progeny, seoond for three yearling heifers, third for yearling bull and oow any age. The display of Shorthorns was pronounced tho best seen on tho ground for many years, and tho judge, Mr A. MoDougall, of Victoria, stated that the Hawke’B Bay exhibits were very good, aDd that the show of Shorthorns would compare, bo.h in numbers and qualify, with that at any show in Australia. In the sheep olusßes, Hawke's Bay breeders met with much stranger opposition, but nevertheless they scoured a fair Ehare of prizes. The Hod. J. D. Ormond secured two firsts and nssrvo ohampion award for Lincolns, Nelson Bros., Limited, almost had a monopoly of the principal prizas for Southdowns, nearly every one of tho more important prizes falling to their share.—H,B.
