Sydney, Nov 8, An extraordinary occurrence happened at Kogarah to a telephone line repairer named Wilson.

He was working at the top of a pole amidst a network of wires outside the post office, when by some means a can of paraffin which he was using burst into flames and enveloped him. He became entangled in the wires, and hung up by Ills feet for three minutes.

He then fell through the network, miraculously catching the bottom wire, and holding on. A ladder was hoisted, and he got halfway down, and then fell heavily.

His clothes were burnt off, and not avestige of hair remains on his body. He is still alive at the Hospital, The fire destroyed the pole and disorganised the telephone service,
