Mr Morrisby, in the Legislative Council, charged the Attorney-General with abuses of the electoral law by acting as agent for a candidate, and spending money in excess of the legal amounts He alleged this was done to defeat tho Attorney-General and secure that portfolio for himself. Mr Propsting denied the charges, explaining the matter to the satisfaction of members.

Neatly nine huadred stokers in barracks were ooncerned in the recent disturbances. Four hundred, have been drafted into ships, Tairty of the ringleaders are in caatody. Men on leave complain that they were looked out without lodgings. They declare tha d - mmstrations outside were merely a demand for admission.
There is extraordinarily heavy voting for New York Btate. Telegraphing at 11 last night Renter states that Hearst’a plurality in New York Oity is growing rapidly, and may reach 80,000. Hughes’ majority in up-State districts must increase rapidly to seoure election. Tho Judges of Tammany tioket have been elected.
