rim S 3 ASSOCIATION Auokland, Inst night. At tho Anglican Synod to-day iho following resolution was carriod on tho motion of tho Rev. Cecil A. B. Watson : “ Tlmt this Synod places on record its thankfulness to Almighty God for the growth of the temperance movement in this colony, as evidenced at tbo recent local option poll, and earnestly urges all churchmen prnyfully to consider their attitude j towards it.” The question was discussed at some length, many members of tho Synod emphatically denying a statement mado I by the mover to tho effect that tho church was doing little or nothing in tho interests I of temperance.
