Mr Churohill, in reply to Mr E. H. Piekergiil, said the decrease of whites on tha Rand from April to September wati a thousand. The inoiease of Chinese was 3598. Numbers of whites on the Rand were unemployed. There was abundant evidenoe that the papulation was becoming alive to the sigaifioanoe of the facts. They would shortly be abla to express their views in a representative assembly. Mr Churohill declared that he was unable to inform Mr J. B, Markham without notioe regarding the increase of Kaffirs on the Rand, or whether any Chinese were doiog skilled whites’ work. THE "NEW HEBRIDES.
