The Rev. Mr Gooden visited the nativo, who shot him in the leg, and followed this up by attacking him with a tomahawk, while Mr Gooden was trying to reaoh his residence.

Tho natives Dext day arrested the murderer, and handed him to tbe osptain of the Frenoh warehip, who brought him to Noumea.

A Frenoh colonist named Jego was murdered by a Solomon Islander at South Malioolo. Tbe murderer was immediately killed by Malioolo natives.
