OPENING- CEREMONY,

TRUSS ASSOCIATION Christchurch, last night. At the mooting of the Exhibition Executive Committee last night the Ceremonial Committee reported that the Exhibition would bo opened to invito guests at 10 a.m. on .November Ist, and all were requested to be in their seats at 11.5, when the doors would be closed. His Excellency the Governor would arrive at 11.30. After the National Anthem the odo would be sung, and the Premier would give a brief history of the Exhibition, with its aims and objects, aud would present to the Governor a souvenir gold key, jewelled, to be passed to Lady Piunket, aud His Excellency would then reply, and the Old Hundredth ■ psalm would be sung, followed by the National Anthem. The Governor would then declare the Exhibition opened, and a cable announcing the fact would bo despatched to the Hing. All the bells in the building would be rung, a military salute would be bred, I and all the flags on the Exhibition would be unfurled. His Excellency would then probably visit portions of the Exhibition. Tiie general public would be admitted to the grounds on the morning of the opening, but would not be able to enter the buildings until the afternoon.

The Commissioners propose to disouss the matter with the Premier when ho arrives on Tuesday, and havo resolved that if tho exhibition is not to be run on business lines they do not want to have anything more to do with it.
