The Burnham School Enquiry
PRESS ASSOCIATION Wellington, last night. The report of Mr Bisbop, 8.H., upon the Burnham I-idaairiai School, was presented to Parliament yesterday. Tho Commissioner reports that looking to the materials wiih winch the manager has to deal, to tho exicem9 difficulties of his posiiion, to the want of his sympathy to help ia the work, and to the lack of up-to-date arrangements in the building and consequent faults, he is astonished, as a result of this long aud searching enquiry, that there is so little real fault to be found with the institution and its management, and he considers it constitutes a great record for Mr Arohey. The results, he says, are wonderfully good. He reoommends that some incorrigible boys, and a few of weak intellect, should be removed to a separate institution, beoause they contaminate the others and prevent good resultß in the wotk of reformation.
