TIMARU SHOW.
PRESS ASSOCIATION Tirnavu, last light. Tho Timaru A. and P. Show opened today, The weather was line but overcast. The attendance was good for the first day. Sheep and a few horses were judged to-day, The latter were some harness classes and colts and fillies. Among draughts so far Oamaru has carried off most of tho chief prizes. The best sections in sheep were English and Border Leicesters, in bred, half-breds, and fats, nearly all exhibits by local men, with a few from Ashburton, Some of tho local exhibitors held off for the big Show at Christchurch. Valuable special prizes offered by firms for freezers were well competed for,W. Grant, S. McKenzie, and W. P. Brookland dividing them. Fat lambs were not so good as usual,, There was a show of farm implements.
