SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The monthly meeting of the Committee of the District High Sohool was held last night. Present : Messrs J. Somervell (chairman), James Brown, W. J. Barlow, O. Nield, R. Johnston, G. Wildish, and G. Danon, also Mr F. J. Rcwley, head mßster, and Mr W. F, File, Beoretary. A circular letter and oopy of petition aod resolutions passed in favor of house allowance to first assistant masters of schools of grade 12 and higher from the Auckland Teaohers’ Association were read aod ordered to lie on the table.
