Tho third annual conference of interstate fruitgrowers has opened. There were two delegates from New Zealand present. The Minister for Agriculture, in his opening speech, commenting on the price of fruit to the consumer, said ho was never able to understand tho difference in
the prioes secured for the producer and that paid by the consumer. If improyed methods of handling ooald be adopted both consumers and producers would benefit.
