Tho Mayor, (Jr Wbinray, and others e-rseut thought the estimate of H2OO was aiuoh too low, and that to give tho band a deoent chauoe i)300 ought to bo providod. All present ooucurroJ as So tho good work gratuitously done by the baud, aud it was mentioned by Mr Pettis that tho pubkc, who benefited by the music, should have an opportunity of bolpiog to raiso the nccossary amount. Mr Piekfotd pointed oot that Wanganui, Auckland, and other coutios had already provided tbtbrcquired funds for seeding their respective bauds to the exhibition.
The following committee woro appointed : Messrs J. Townloy (Mayor), J. A. Harding, A. F. Kennedy, T. Adair, R. D. B. Robinson, Pottia, Whinray, and Brown.
