At the quarterly meeting of tbe City Licensing Uommittee tbe license of tbe Post Office Hotel was renewed on the ground that tenders for tbe erection of the new building are accepted before March, tbe owners to give a bond to that effeot. At tbe Magistrate’s Coart to-day a number of dairy men were fined varying sums for failing to keep their premises aod trade utensils clean. The total fines were £24 and costs £66. Dunedin last night. At a largely-attended quarterly meeting of tbe.Tiinity Methodist Church a resolution was passed that it is desired that the Methodist Conference should renew its request for an independent conference.
