GISBORNE.

Last evening Mr W. Gaudin, bon. secretary of tho Ooc-k Memorial Committee, received tho following telegram from the Premier in regard to the visit of a warship in connection with the Cock memorial ceremony on Monday next:-"I have muoh pleasure in informing you that His Excellency the Governor, in reply (o my request, is informed that H.M.S. Challenger will vieit Gisborno, arriving on Saturday, 6th O.’tober, and remaining until after tbe ceremony, weather permitting.—J. G. WARD ”
