Tho final meeting' of Committees for (lie Hospital Social will be held tonight. Tenders for works about the Gisborne School close on Saturday. The Hospital Social to-morrow evening is expected to prove a great sue- j cess. It is being anticipated with keen interest, and with fine weather there should be a very large attendance.
The goodwill of a first-rate country hotel and store is offered ior sale by Mr F. S. Des Barres, land and estate agent. The meeting of the Hospital Trustees cailed foe yesterday afternoon lapsed for want of a quorum. In the accounts for payment were several for surgical assistI ance rendered. Three local medicos rendered accounts amounting to £B3 12s for operations for the month of August. One was for £l2 12s, another for £ll 11b, and ths third for £9 9s. Mr Joycs took

Tho furnituro accounts for tho Hospital were then submitted, and were all passed for payment. Mr Joyce said that on future occasions it would be as well to submit tho requirements of the Hospital to tender. Tho Chairman replied that the be3t possible arrangements had been made with local tradesmen, so that all should receive an equal share of tho trade of the Hospital.
