Arrived, tho Maroro, from Hokiangn. Sir Wm. Lyno states that Dr. Tidswell, who was appointed Government assistant in carrying on tho initial laboratory experiments with Danzy’s rabbit virus, reporta tbo results of exhaustive experiments with oarnivorcus birds, fowls, native small birds, pigeons, Bboep, rabbits, guinea pig-’, and moDkoye. Dr. Tidswell reports that the whole oourse of the experiments revealed that while causing fatality amongst rabbits, the virus, as far as natural anuns of infection is oonoerned, is remarkably ionocuious to other kinds of animals exposed to it. Ho reoommends further experiments on a large scale on Broughton Island, where preparations have already been made for fully testing it under natural conditions.
