LIONEL TERRY ESCAPES.
MYSTERIOUSLY DISAPPEARS FROM SUNNYSIDE.
PRESS ASSOCIATION Ohristohurch, last night. Lionel Terry, who had been sentenced to death for the mnrder of a Chinaman in Ootober, 1905, but who was deemed to be insane, and removed to the Sunnysids Asylum, near Christchurch, esoaped .from that institution between 7 and 8 last night. Terry had been working about the asylum grounds as usual during the day, and was with tbe other inmates when they were assembled in the building for toa.
When tbe iomatea were about to be locked in their oells Terry was missing, and has not been discovered einoe. All tbe windows were fastened and all the doors were looked at the time af the escape, and it is supposed that he either had a key to one of the doors, or that his escape had been arranged for by his friends.
