A CHASTLY JOKE?
PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT Melbourne, Sept. 21. Two boys, while fishing in a lagoon at Albert Park, found a parcel floating on the water. Examination showed the contents to be a portion of the body of a murdered man. Tho flesh had been cut from the lower portion of the trunk. No trace of bones was found, They had evidently been carefully removed. The remains were wrapped up in a portion
of a shirt, the edges of which were charred, and it obviously bad been burned. A second parcel showed a mixture of organs. A man’s heart could be easily distinguished, and what appeared to bo tho liver. There was also wliat looked like a human eye, together with portions of a lung. Adhering to all these was agranular substance that seemed to he sawdust. The decomposed nature of the remains makes it appear as if they were thrown into the water a month ago. A remarkable feature is the absence of hones, and this suggests the possibility of a gruesome joke on the part of medical students. Tile police regard it as a case of murder,
