PRESS ASSOCIATION Auckland, last night, Leonard Lawrcnoe end George B. Chinell, of liarangabape road, picture-

dealers, were proseouted in the Polioe Court to-day on a oharge of selling pictures of an indeoant nature, viz 11 Psyohe’s Bath ” and " Psyohe at Nature’s Mirror.” Defendant pleaded not guilty. They admitted the sales, but set up tbe defenoe that they were not indeoent piotures. Considerable disoussion arose as to whether these were piotures which should be sold indiscriminately, and the witnesses for defenoe, when asked for their opinion, all said that they did not see where the harm oould result, Mr Kettle said ho would like to hear further evidenoe of a representative oharaoter, in order to help him in his opinion, and he adjourned the oases for a fortnight in order that this might ba called. ,ais
