Reoeived 11.14 p.m., September 19. London, Sept. 19. Matilda Stanly, onoe orgaoist at Hatfield House, was sentenoed to six months at Old Bailey for publishing pamphlets alleging that Lady Gwendolin Cecil had a baby to the Rev. J. Edwards, the late Lord Salisbury’s ehaplaio. The Judge, in passing sentence, remarked that the accusation was a most malioious and perfeotly groundless libel, whioh amounted almost to blackmail.
New York, Sept. 19. Mary Macdonald, a merchant's daughter of Brooklyn, discovered that Tbober, her intended bridegroom, had betrayed and deserted his previous fiancoe, Viola Grover. Miss Maodonaid, at tho moment of her own intended weddiog, dramatically produoed Viola at the altar, and compelled Thober to marry Miss Grover.
