The dairy cow is often spoken of as tho farmers’ great source of profit, but a Cambridge agriculturalist tells the Waikato Independant- of some results in sheep which need not fear comparison with most dairy returns. Two pens of lambs which changed hands at a recent sale in Waikato, brought 22s Gd ahead. They were twelvo months old, and had been shorn once, tho wool realising 7s 6d a head. Tho sum of 27s 6d as a gross return for one animal inside a year is not to be despised, Some humorous answers to questions were given by soveral candidates at the examinations conducted by the Sunday School Union. One of the examiners (the Rev. Gibson Smith) repeated some of these answers at the union’s distribution of prizes, and not only entertained tho audience but gave the youngsters some sound advice to apply in future examina tions. Somo of the faults ho found gave him groat pleasure, for they showed that the candidates had originality and imagination. He said Aliab wanted Naboth’s yinoyard, and asked him for it, but because. he could not get it on his bed and sulked. His wife said unto him, “ Why sulketh thou, Ahab ?” (Laughter.) Then she caused Naboth to be stoned. Another candidate, answering the question, “ What woman betrayed Samson?” replied "Judas’s wife.” (Laughter,)
