THE TELEPHONE SERVICE

(Special to Times.) Wellington, last n’ght. The question of a reduction of telephone charges is the subject of a question that is being put to the Premier by Mr Flatman. Ho wishes to know whether the Government will reduce the charges for communication to subscribers, especially those who arc using more than | one instrument'? He points out that persons having telephonic communication at their private homes are charged full rates, and he thinks that some reduction in the charges should be made in these I cases. Mr Herrics has given notice to move a return showing the number of subscribers of telephone exchanges who have been refused renewal on account of their occupation.
