A large number of petitions in favor of the Auokland-East Coast railway are etiil rolling io, another batoh having been presented to the House to-day by various members. These petitions have given Mr Ell the opportunity of asking the Government another question. He wishes to know whether the Minister for Railways will introdnoe a Bill to apply the betterment principle in connection with the proposed railway.
