The New Zealand Golf Championship Meeting opened at the Shirley links this morning under somewhat inauspicuous weather conditions. The day was showery, and a strong sou’west wind was blowing, which interfered considerably with the play of many of the competitors Tomorrow morning the first round of the Canterbury Championship will be played, the third round of the New Zealand Championship being played in the afternoon.
The following are the results of to-day’s play;—
