They must havo been supported by extremists in the Douma, who endeavored to usurp exeoutive power. Revolutionaries were now seeking to frighten the Oovcrnment by massaore of officials. “ Ths Government’s aims," it stated, " are unalterable. This or that person may be k lied, but it is impossible to kill the ideal inspiring the Government. Hence they will b 3 met by foroel" It proceeds to enumerale the exceptional measures and reforms already oabled. Mr Fraser, the London Standard’s correspondent, and bis Beoretary were among the two thousand arrested at Warsaw. They were oonveyed to a yard of the Governor’s palace and beaten by Cauca--1 sian guards. The intervention of GeDoral Soalon’s adjutant probably alone saved 1 their lives.
