TSE FINANCIAL DEBATE.

j(Speclal to Gisborne Times.) Wellington, last night.

Revived interest in the political Ciuatiofi was made manifest this evening by the crowded galleries to hear the commencement of the Financial debate. Tbe demand for t’ckets was much greater than the supply, and there was a regular stampede for tbe public gallery when tbe door was opened. The debate was excel* lent until Mr Fowlds took the floor. Mr Massey was in excellent form, so was Ml' McNab, who disclosed the land policy of the Government in greater detail than it was stated in the Budget. Mr Herriel also made a olever speeob, but Mr Fowlds labored heavily, and waa in anything but his best form.
