The Dunlop road raoe started from hero at 945 this morning. The reads are in Bplendid order, and ideal weather conditions prevail.. There were 219 entrants, and of these 181 started. In two places on the route between Timaru and Temuka tacks were spread this morning, but the tffieials got word in time, and had them removed. , Later,—The Timaru to Christchurch Dunlop Road Raoe took plaoe on'Saturday atternooD. One hundred and eightyone riders Btarted, a record for the rase, and a large proportion finished. The road was very dry, and in some plaoes dusty and loose, and many of the competitors bad spills, one fraoturiDg bis oollarbone on Marocau road. The winner, G. W. A Mebarry, cf Hok ; tika, arrived at the R'.c carton racecourse, whore the fin'sh was, aborily after 4 20 p.m., and others followed in quick succession.
