The gift came as a great surprise to members of the committee, and considering the high prico of land in ths vicinity is a moat munificent one. The County Chairman, Captain Tucker, was also in receipt of a wiro from the Hon, James Carroll, notifying him of Mrs Carroll’s donation, The Works Committee of the Borough Council yesterday visited the locality, and authorised the necessary expenditure to put the road in a proper state of repair.
