CHARITABLE A'D BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Charitable Aid Board was hold last night, there boiog present: Messrs Towoloy (chairman), Shoiidan, Miller, Harding, Webb, Whin ray, Colley, and Bright, ERRONEOUS REPORT.
Exception was tidc n by Mr Millsr to a statement in Dr McGrcgor’d report, as ptinted in tho papers—“At Qiobome the provision for old people is merely a makeshift—two or three cottagos in a Bmall section oi ground. Mr M>’ler said ho ihought there vrns some misundr rstnnding on tho pa t of tho Trustees as to the object of tbe Board in seeking tho information asked f r ; otherwise the Trustees had been dstincrly rude t) the Board, The Cbm man said ho supposed the Trus'r es were quite able to undii'stand tho contents of the letter.
Mr Miller: I cm giving them credit for not understanding it. During tho ccurse of further discussion, it was el’oited that the Borough Council had asked for information as to tho patients who paid and those who did not ; tho right of the Ocurcil to ask such a quis'ion boirg challenged, tbo earne request was made through tbo Charitable A'd Board, and tbe only reply to hand, it was stated, was a letter to the Council stating that a reply bud b tn srnt to tho Charitablo Aid Bj'ird, Tho matter was eventually deferted until the rr ply bad been received,
