Wellington, last night. The Department of Industries and Commerce has reoeived the following cablegram from the High Comiesioner dated London, August 24 ;h The mutton market is very dull. Canterbury brands are^ noted at 3;‘l to 3£d, North Island brands 3' Ito 3Jf. The lamb market is weak. The demand et II continues not quite so brisk. Arrivals are heavy. Canterbury brands are quo'ed at 41-d, other than Canterbury j.i The beef market is steady at prices cabled last week. ' The butter maiket is firm. Prices oontinuoto | advance. Danish is quoted at 122 s per owt. Small supplies of New Zealand are coming forward and selling at 112 s per cwt. Taere is a strong market for oheoee. Canadian makes are selling st 6ls per owt. The hemp market is quiet, Wellington brand, on spot, is worth £34 per ton. Too cocksfoot markot is fist, buyers holding baok, and no business is doing. New Zealand long berried wheat on spot, ez granary, per 4961b5, is quoted at 31s, short-berriod 30s Theseiprieei aro nominal, New Zealand sparrowbill oats, per 3841b5, aro worth 24 j 61 to 25s 61, Danish, per 320 bs, 19s to 20.
