Johannesburg, August 26. The Johannesburg Progressive Association meetiDg collapsed owing to the op«; position of two thousand, mostly miners. Mr Sbadwelh a member of the Miners' Association, then to.k the chair. The meeting resolved, at the iustanee of Mr R. Ouihwaite, in favor of repatriation of Re Chinese when the present contract terminate?. The meeting loudly cheered the Boers.
London, August 26. The Drily Chronicle reports that the Mine Owners’ Association is recruiting thousands if natives weekly from sources otbor than tho east coast, Bnd supplying other groups of mines than the Robinson group. The Native Labor Association now permits individual recruiting by miners everywhere exoept iu the Transvaal and Portuguese territory.
