SUPREME COURT POWERS,
PRESS ASSOCIATION
WellingtoD, last night. The Chief Justice gave judgment on a point arising out of the Supreme Court proceedings in the claim for compensation for an accident to an employee. There was a question raised as to whether tho Supreme Court liad the same jurisdiction and powers as the Arbitration Court to give a lump sum in compensation for an accident sustained by a worker. His Honor ruled that this power did rest ill the Supreme Court, and that it could be exercised upon application by either employee.
