Matthews (Mr Stock) for £3O bonus on work done from January, 1900, to April, 1903. Plaintiff stated that the first arrangement was th it he should get Si a dry and 25 per cent, of tho profits, which was afterwards changed to 9s a day and a bonus, aud ultimately to lls a day and a bonus of 5 per cent, ou all work done, Plaintiff had frequently applied for bonuses, but bad Dot received them. In giving judgment his Worship commented ou tho direct conflict of the evidence. If the bonuses were payable he oould not understand why plaintiff slept on his rights so long. A meeting of the School Committoes’ Aisociction was held last evening in the Gisborno school, Mr J. Somervell presiding. The following delegates were pre sent : Messrs Humphreys and Fyson (Kaiti), McLaod and Geuody (Maugapapa), Gaudin (Fraseriowi ), F.h (Tologo Ba;>), Messrs Nisbett, Barlow, Brown, Colley, and Dartoa (Gisborne), Oolobrook and Laugher (Waerenga-a-h'ka). Messrs Datton and Wildish also held proxies from Whatatutu and Tokomaru respectively, aud Mr Barlow from the Motu School Committee. Tho committee appointed to draw up rules submitted a draft copy of the same, the rules being on the lines of tho Auckland and Dunedin Associations. Tho various clauses were considered at length, the discussion lasting until 11 o’clook, when the rules were adopted, aud a vote of thanks was acoorded tj the committee for tho servioas, Mr Morgan’s notice of motion to the Board re the appointment of teachers was referred to by Mr Colley, and the meaning of tho motion was explained by Mr D-rton Owing to the lateness of the hour the matter was not discussed.
