Tho existenco of potato blight] in Now Zealand was brought under the notico of Ministers in Australian Parliaments recently. In this connection it is interesting to read tho a Dunedin produce merchant, expressed in an interview with a Daily Times reporter. This gentleman, Mr Moriuson, said ho was sure that diseased potatoes had boon irnportod from Australia, his firm having roceivod suchahipments, notwithstanding the Victorian Guvernmont certificate of cleaulineas. These potatoes might havo been responsible for the first introduction of the disease into this country. Howevor, other contributing agencies to the recent outbreak of Irish blight and the general poorness of the crops were the cold and wet seasons experienced over the past two years, tho natural impoverishing of lands, and using seed potatoes from a stock grown on the same laud year after I year.
