WANTED, ANOTHER JUDGE.

PRESS ASSOCIATION Wellington, last night. Government’s apparent willingness to favorably consider the appointment of a Judge to be sole'y devoted to tho Arbitration Court naturally ra’ses the query whether an extra Judge will bo secured for ordinary work. Tbo opinion of tbe Chief Justice (Sir Robert S'ou') is that there is ample work now to justify an appointment of an additional J'udge. The appeal sit tings, he says, take about 12 weeks in the year, a quarter of every judge’s available time after allowing for vacations, and this causes other woik to fall behind. Moreover, every seven years each Jndgeis entitled to extended leave of absence, an arrangement wbioh requires an extra Judge.
