POLITICAL.

PREPAREDNESS OF THE GOVERNMENT. Special to the Times. Wellington, last night. Sit Joseph Ward states that everything is ready for tho coming session, including even tho Financial Statement and the elaborate B 1 return. This is a striking commentary on the methods of tbo past, for Mr Seddon always deolartd that it was impossible to give the B 1 teturn till to> wards tho close of tbo session. Sir Joseph Ward is having various alterations made in tbe Cabinet room which he wi 1 occupy during the session. This room was hea\;ly draped wi-h cloth to suit Mr Saddon’s taste, but it has boen entirely transformed, as tho anto-rooms have also been, There is a waitiog-room for oaliors, and adjoining this is tbe office foe the privatesicretiries, who have direct communication with the Cabinet room.
