PRESS ASSOCIATION Westport, last night. A deputation representing the two ooal oompaoies here waited on the Harbor Board to-day to urge extra rolling stook and port equipments. Thß representative of the Westport Coal Company stated that h’s company could not overtake the present demand, and were refusing orders. The engineer of the Weetoort-Sicckton Company informed the Board that the contracts for the main works for opening their mine had all been let this week, and that his directors were urging the equipment of the mine for the production of coal with ali haste. Owing to the stoppage of ooal export from Japan, the Australian trade, it is stated, was so overtaxed that orders are to hand here for coal for foreign export, aud as a further rise in Australian coal is announoed for next year, it is expected that the demand will more than overtax present facilities and equipment. The Board have agreed to the necessity of extra rolling stook to handle another thousand tons a day, and a new selfpropelling loading crane has been also ordered from England.
