POLITICAL CRISIS.
A MINISTERIAL SCENE.
PRESS ASSOCIATION - COPYRIGHT Melbourne, August 15. In tho State Assembly a sensation wss oreated during the discussion of the Small Holdings Bill. Mr Bent objected to oertain amendments, declaring the Government intended to pass the Bill as it stood, Mr Murray, Minister of Lands, said be entirely disagreed with tbo attitude of the Premier. He welcomed critioism. Mr Bent warmly rejoined that Mr Murray had no right to tell the Bouse this because the Government had made up its mind. If Mr Murray had any difficulties about the Bill, let him withdraw it. Mr Murray replied that he accepted the Premier’s suggestion aDd readily resigned the charge of what seomed a very imper* feet Bill. Concluding, Bar Murray said : " I also resign the position of Minister of Lands, and do so altogether without regret.” He then walked out of the Chamber. Mr Bent snnounoed that he would go on with tbs Bill. After making a little prrgce3B tho House adjourned. Messrs Bent and Murray subsequently conferred,
