PRESS ASSOCIATION Wellington, lust night. At the oonferonco of delegates of tho New Zaaland Boxing Conned the matter of altering tbe Police Ofleuoss Amendment Act in the direction cf p'aciug the control ul boxing in the bands of tho Council, and also making it illegal to hold a competition of any kiud without tho consent of tho local oeutro committee, provoked a lengthy discussion, and it was ultimately decided that Government should be approached in tho direction mentioned. Tho representatives unanimously agreed that tho Australasian championships should be continued, and that tbs Council’s
representative at tbo coming conference in Sydney should endeavor to hivonnew agreement drawn up on linrs that would be more favorable ta New Zealand than tho old one. It was also decided that Now Zealand favored tho weighing of competitors on the first night only cf a competition, and that the number of rounds shou'd bo six of two miuute3 each. The question of the standard make of g ! ovos was considered, and the mec-tiDg favored samples being procured from English, Australian, aud Nsw Zealand makers. THE CHAMPIONSHIPS.

J Blewden ; R, Mazsy (Christchurch) fought a bye, Final ; Mazey beat Parker, Middl 3 Weight; Second round, J. Maloney (Wellington) beat J. Brennand (Timaru); A. Nash (Christchurch) beat H.
