A large number of pooplo visited the Calliope dock on Sunday to view the warship Pioneer, which was dam iged in a collision with the steam r Tsiune in Auckland harbor on Friday morning. The tide carried the steamer on to the warship’s buws, with the result that both vessels sustained mere or less serious damage. Two of the Taluno’s plates were badly damaged on the waterline, and will have to be replaced. The ram nose of the Pioneer was bent to an angle of about 45deg, and it is roughly estimated the repairs will cost about £l5O.
