FOOTBALL.
At the committee meeting of the Poverty Bay Rugby Union held last nigbt, oompleta arrangements were made in connection with the sevon-asido tournament to be held on Saturday next. Teams representing Kaiti-City, West End, Taki. timu, and juniors have entered, and the draw resulted as follows: 1 Firet heat: Kaiti-City v. Takitimu Ssoond heatV West Bad v.'Jhoiors Final: Winners of each heat. Tho following rules will be observed in the tournament :
Spells: Two spells of 10 minutes, no interval; final, prior to the fioa! being played an interval of 10 minutes allowed; during the final an interval of five minutsa flowed at half-time. , Scoring ; In tho event of a tie at call of tjme in second spell, the game to ooolinue till a score is registered. Teams .- Complete lists of teams to be m bands of referee before competition commences. In connection with the West End junior player ordered off the field last Saturday for deliberately striking an opponent, extreme provocation was p’eaded, and it was deoided to jail evidence before the union at next Monday evening’s rmeting.
