AN ACCIDENT.
I’KESS ASSOCIATION Greymouth, last night. This afternoon an accidont ocourred on the wharf. It appears that along with other men a whatf laborer named Whitesido was engaged ia unloading the cargo of tho s.s. Arabura. Some considerable quuntity of goods bad been discharged, when a slirg of ste:'} pipes was sent up. and was about to be landed on a truck, wboD it was found necessary to lower it fur.her. A misunderstanding took place, with the result that the sling wae highered, swinging with great force against Whiteside, who was j itemed against the side of the vessel, and his lrg seriously out and broken.
